VERSE FOR REFLECTION – 1 Peter 4:10-11

Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen

FALL STEWARDSHIP FOCUS

As we prepare for 2023, our Fall Stewardship Focus will be on November 13 & 20. We will look at some Unexpected Heroes of the Bible and see how their giving and serving made a significant difference and touched the life of the church. November 20th will be our commitment Sunday. Each of us can be Unexpected Heroes in our community and in our church through our giving, our serving, our praying, our presence and our witness. Please be praying about how you will live out your faith through your commitment to our church in 2023.

RECEIVING THE OFFERING

Starting today, we will once again be passing the offering plates to receive the morning offering. We will also have the Noisy Buckets on the second Sunday of each month.

 NOVEMBER MISSION OF THE MONTH:

NOVEMBER “ONE THING”

This month our church is in charge of providing buns for the Mitchell Food Pantry Thanksgiving meal. As our November “One Thing”, we will be collecting cash donations to purchase the buns. Please place your donations in the “One Thing” box located in the gathering area. Thank you for your generosity and willingness to give.

SHOEBOX CHRISTMAS

Thank you to all that took a tag from our angel tree. We were able to pack over 50 shoeboxes for the Spirit Lake Ministry Center, for children in SD and ND.

JOURNEY OF FAITH SPEAKER

Gina Reynen will take you through her faith journey on Sunday, November 13th at 2 PM at Downtown FUMC. Free Admission. A donation to the Food Pantry is welcome but not required. Refreshments will be served. Please invite your friends and family to hear this message of hope. Sponsored by our Health Ministry Team.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP MEALS

Thank you to those who have given of your time and resources to make a delicious meal for our Youth and Leaders. As a new year approaches, we are in need of volunteers for the meals. If you feel like this could be your opportunity to serve, please contact Becky Koch, Cindy Bierman or sign up at our new Connection Center on the west wall of the gathering area.

CONNECTION CENTER

As you may have noticed our new “Connection Center” is  located in our Gathering area. It will be used to welcome visitors and members. It will also be used as a central place where congregants can find and collect information about various events, activities and sign ups. If you feel this could be an opportunity for you to serve as a welcome leader, please see Becky, our Family Ministry Director.

Tonya Stahl- Our New Office Manager!

If you’ve called or stopped by the church office in the last two weeks, a new cheery person has greeted you. Tonya Stahl is our new front desk person and Office Manager. Tonya, Bret, and family have been a part of our church family for a number of years so she is very familiar with our church family. She is a great addition to our staff team and is ready to help our church and church family in any way that she can. If you have not done so, please take a moment to welcome Tonya.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
