MISSION OF THE MONTH
Heifer International
Heifer International is on a mission to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by supporting and investing alongside local farmers and their communities.
SEPTEMBER “ONE THING”
Our September “One Thing” is individual packaged snacks for DWU’s student life. Suggestions would be individual wrapped crackers, fruit snacks, cookies, candy bars, etc.
BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING
The Health Ministry team will have a blood pressure screening on Sunday, September 24th prior to the 10AM worship service. They will be located by the office doors.
CONFIRMATION PARENTS AND STUDENTS
All 8th grade confirmation youth and parents, we will have a short informational meeting on Sunday, September 17th at 9AM in the dining room. Please plan to attend.
SERVICE OF HEALING AND HOPE FOLLOWING DEATH BY SUICIDE
As part of September being Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, our church is going to host a Service of Healing and Hope for those who’s lives have been touched by the tragedy of suicide. This service will take place on Sunday, September 24th at 4PM here in our worship center. Please share this information with family and friends who have experienced the death of a loved one by suicide. Our goal is to provide a service in which we allow people to remember those who died, and to provide healing and hope for those who live.
SUNDAY SCHOOL, CONFIRMATION & YOUTH GROUP
Parents, Sunday School and Youth Group will be starting back up soon. Youth Group will start on Wednesday, Sept. 13th and Sunday School and Confirmation on Sunday, Sept. 17th. Wednesday Night Youth Group will start with a meal at 6pm, followed by Overflow at 6:30pm, and then going into small groups at 7pm. If you have not registered yet, please grab a registration form by Becky’s office door.
ADULT BIBLE STUDY
Natalie Piehl will once again have an adult bible study based on the book title Immerse: Beginnings beginning Sunday September 17th. She will offer a study on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM and/or Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM. Books are for sale for $14.00 each. Please let Natalie know if you are interested or if you have any questions.
ADULT CLASS
Dave Mitchell’s adult class will start meeting again on September 17th at 9AM. The topic for the first classes will be the prophetic books of the Old Testament, especially the minor prophets. All are invited to participate.
IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM…OR IS IT?
We have a limited number of Bruce Blumer’s books available for a $15 suggested donation. They are available in the gathering area. If you do write a check, please make it payable to Haiti Alive.
COUNTY FAIR STAMPS & COBORN’S RECEIPTS
We are still collecting County Fair Stamps and Coborn receipts for August, September, and October. Please place them in the marked drawers at the top of the lower-level stairs.
