MISSION OF THE MONTH

CASA

The mission of First Circuit Court Appointed Special Advocates is to assure a safe, permanent, nurturing home for every abused and/or neglected child by providing a trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system.

AUGUST “ONE THING”

Our August “One Thing” is for the Mitchell School District Caring Closet- Socks for School. They need men’s socks in all sizes.

BACKPACK BLESSING

We will have a special blessing of backpacks TODAY, Sunday, August 27th during worship. We invite all children, youth, teachers, and school administrators to bring your backpacks to worship. We will pray over them for the school year ahead.

FIND A NEED & FILL IT

 We are looking for and asking for volunteers. Please take a few minutes to write your name and number down in an area that you feel like you would be willing to share your time and your gifts. Thank you!

FALL KICK-OFF CELEBRATION

Mark your calendars! Join us for our fall kick-off celebration on Sunday, September 10th. We will have lunch, provided by the UMC Men, pie and ice cream, provided by the United Women in Faith, and special music by Lizzy Morrison in the North parking lot following service. All are welcome!

TOUR DE CORN

Thank you to everyone that donated to Pastor Keith’s ride. He rode the 35-mile route last Saturday. There is still time to donate, if you would like, just let the office know. All proceeds will go towards the youth band/choir that Eliot and the youth are forming.

SUNDAY SCHOOL, CONFIRMATION & YOUTH GROUP REGISTRATION

If you have not registered your child yet, please do so as soon as you can. Each year we ask parents to register your child/youth so that we have your most current information on file. Registration is available on-line as well as hard copies available by Becky’s office door.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY

Natalie Piehl will once again have an adult bible study based on the book title Immerse: Beginnings beginning Sunday September 17th. She will offer a study on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM and/or Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM. Books are for sale for $14.00 each. Please let Natalie know if you are interested or if you have any questions. 

IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM…OR IS IT?

We have a limited number of Bruce Blumer’s books available for a $15 suggested donation. They are available in the gathering area. If you do write a check, please make it payable to Haiti Alive.

COUNTY FAIR STAMPS & COBORN’S RECEIPTS

We are still collecting County Fair Stamps and Coborn receipts for August, September, and October. Please place them in the marked drawers at the top of the lower-level stairs.
