VERSE FOR REFLECTION: Psalm 141:1-2

I cry out to you, Lord: Come to me—quickly!
Listen to my voice when I cry out to you!
Let my prayer stand before you like incense;
let my uplifted hands be like the evening offering.

MISSION OF THE MONTH

Haiti Alive

Haiti Alive is a nonprofit organized to serve God and to bring hope, health, and happiness to the people on the island of LaGonave, Haiti. We convey the message of Christ through the areas of education, healthcare, and ministering to those in need, especially women, children, and the elderly.

OCTOBER “ONE THING”

Our October “One Thing” is canned vegetables for the Mitchell Area Food Pantry Thanksgiving baskets. In 2022 The Food Pantry gave away 150 Thanksgiving baskets in 40 minutes.  Cash donations are also welcomed.

NOVEMBER “ONE THING”

Our November “One Thing” will be macaroni and cheese for the Salvation Army’s Christmas Baskets. The Salvation Army distributes these baskets to those in need.

SHARE YOUR NATIVITY

We are asking our church family to share your nativities with us and the community on December 2nd and 3rd. We will have a display area in the chapel and would love to include any nativities that you are willing to share. The dates for this event are December 2nd and 3rd with a presentation from Dr. Forbes on December 3rd at 1pm.

THANK YOU

Thank you so much for contributing to this year’s ALS walk. With your help our team raised a little over $7,000. At this time the tally is a little over $100,000. Research and new technologies are getting closer to making ALS a livable disease and finding a cure a possibility. My family and I appreciate your generosity! Christy Wilson

FOLLOWING…

Today Pastor Keith begins a 5-part sermon series highlighting five practices that United Methodists commit to that help define our faith in God and steps we take to follow Jesus. “Following” isn’t just a social media term…it is a way of living our faith and allowing Jesus to guide us on our journey of life.

CANDY FOR CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

We are accepting candy for our Children’s Christmas Program. Donations can be dropped off at the office. Thank you!

MEMBERSHIP CLASS

Pastor Keith will be offering a membership class on Sunday, November 12th following worship service. Lunch will be provided for those that are interested and class should be finished by 1PM. If you are interested, please let the office know so we can plan accordingly.

SHOEBOX CHRISTMAS

We only have 8 tags left! Please grab a tag, instructions (they are a little different than last year), and a shoebox and help make Christmas special for someone in need. The deadline is Sunday, November 5th.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT YOUTH GROUP MEALS

We are still in need of food or cash donations for the Wednesday night meals for our youth and their leaders. If you would like to provide part of the meal, that is okay too. There is a sign-up sheet located by the Connection Center Desk. If you have any questions, please let Becky or Cindy know, or call the office at 605-996-7721.

COUNTY FAIR STAMPS & COBORN’S RECEIPTS

We are still collecting County Fair Stamps and Coborn receipts for November, December, and January. Please place them in the marked drawers at the top of the lower-level stairs.

GRIEF SHARE

Anyone experiencing grief from a present or past loss is invited to attend Grief Share for a spiritual path to hope and peace. The program runs Sundays from 6-8pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. For questions, contact Jan Quenzer at 605-770-9316.
