VERSE FOR REFLECTION – 1 John 3:23-24

And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.

PLEASE KEEP US INFORMED

If you or a loved one are hospitalized or in a care facility and you want those of us in the church office to know, please be sure to call the church office. The hospital does not call the churches unless specifically asked to do so. Pastor Keith and Short want to provide meaningful care to our church family, but we have to be informed if there is a need. Thank you for your help with this matter.

THANKS TO OUR INTERIM BISHOPS

Bishop Deborah Kiesey and Bishop Laurie Haller both did an excellent job of providing leadership as our Interim Bishops here in the Dakotas over the last year or two. With Bishop Lanette Plambeck now officially our Resident Bishop, Bishop Keisey has stepped back into retired status. Bishop Haller has also taken retired status as of January 1, 2023. There are two cards in the Gathering Area on one of the high-top tables that you, our church family, are invited to sign. There are also slips of paper available if you would like to write a little note to either one.

JANUARY SERMON SERIES

We are made for connections. It is a part of who we are. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, He spoke of connections, connecting with God, connecting with our neighbors, and connecting with ourselves. Join us for worship at Downtown Mitchell First UMC in January as Pastor Keith will have a new sermon series called “Connex-tions” that will focus on a theme that was important to Jesus and is something our church is building on. We are building “connections” to last a lifetime!!

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
