TIME OF PRAYER Into My Heart

      Silent Reflection ~ Pastor’s Prayer ~ The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

You can place them on the "One Thing" shelf in the gathering area. Please note that we are asking only for the Crayola brand due to quality reasons. The Mitchell Walmart is currently sold out but if you would like to shop online click here.

MAH OPEN HOUSE

Everyone is invited to join Paul and Twyla Mah in celebrating 25 years of marriage at an open house this Sunday, June 12. It will be from 2:00-4:00pm in the Downtown Mitchell FUMC dining room.

BREIDENBACH CARD SHOWER

Please join us in a card shower celebrating the Breidenbach’s 60th wedding anniversary. Help us make George and Pat’s diamond anniversary even more special by sending a card to 737 E 14th, Mitchell, SD, 57301. Everyone is also welcomed to join them in a reception in the gathering area after worship on Sunday, June 26th.

MUISC PREFERENCE SURVEY

As we look to the fall, the plan is to go back to two Sunday morning worship services. The early service will be at 9:17am and the second service will be at 11am. Sunday School will begin at 9:30am. We are still considering which service, contemporary or traditional, will go in which time slot. We are also hoping to start a second Praise Team to add to our variety of musicians helping lead worship. You can help our leadership out as we consider these decisions by filling out a brief survey. Click here to take the survey.

WE ARE HIRING!

Want to combine your knowledge of technology with your passion for service and get paid for it?  Downtown First United Methodist Church has an opportunity for you! In this part-time role, the Head Technology Personnel will oversee the technology for worship, presentations, livestream, and radio broadcasts. You must be available for Sunday morning services and other services as needed (funerals, weddings etc.). Salary will depend on your skills, but we are willing to train the right individual. For more information and to download the application, click here. There are also paper copies of the applications in the church office.

PEACE WITH JUSTICE SUNDAY

This Sunday, June 12th, is Peace with Justice Sunday. On Peace with Justice Sunday, we partner with other United Methodist congregations in a special offering to support advocacy around the world. Together we strengthen God’s creation with ministries that challenge structures of inequality. We empower people and communities through systemic change in ways that bring true and lasting peace with justice. We have envelopes at both worship center entrances for you to place your donation or put it in the offering and mark it “Peace with Justice.”

MEALS ON WHEELS DRIVERS NEEDED

Our church is responsible for Meals on Wheels drivers August 1st- September 9th. If you are interested in helping or would like more information, please contact Dave Mitchell at (605) 996-5977 or call the church office.

COMMUNION SERVANTS NEEDED

An important part of worship is that of our month gathering at the Lord's Table for Holy Communion. We need a team of people willing to prepare, possibly help serve, and clean up after our monthly Communion services. If you would be willing to serve on this team, please contact Johanna or Pastor Keith in the church offices. Thank You!

COUNTY FAIR STAMPS

We are still collecting County Fair stamps. Please place them in the drawer marked “County Fair” at the top of the lower-level stairs.

COBORN’S RECEIPTS

We are collecting Coborn’s receipts for May, June, & July. Please place them in the “Coborn’s” drawer at the top of the lower-level stairs

TECH TEAM VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for some more people to help with the PowerPoint, cameras, and sound booth on Sunday mornings. You do not need to have any previous tech experience, but some training will be required. If you are interested in helping, please contact Johanna at 605-996-7721 or johanna@downtownfirstumc.com. Thank you!
