      Silent Reflection ~ Pastor’s Prayer ~ The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

The youth are putting together Prayer Stations for Lent and will be available to use all through the season. The stations are in the upstairs classroom nearest the back stairway on the north side. There will also be special prayer stations for younger children in the center of the room. To have the most meaningful experience, we ask that all children be accompanied by adults.

DAKOTA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Our church’s finance team is offering two DWU scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each for the 2022-2023 school year. These are available to all ages, not just high school seniors, and will be paid to the DWU Business Office in January 2023 after we receive confirmation that they successfully completed the fall semester. You can download the application for the scholarship by clicking here. Please either email it to Denise Hoffman at Denise.Hoffman@k12.sd.us or bring it in to the church office.

A NEW BEGINNING!

Church Growth is an important value for any church body, and the best way for a church to grow is through multiplication.  Downtown Mitchell First UMC has done this through the birth of Fusion.  Now we can do it again through the launching of a Hispanic Church that will meet in our Chapel on Sunday afternoons beginning on Sunday, April 24.  Rev. Herman Perez is the pastor of this new faith community, and he has successfully launched Hispanic Churches in Sioux Falls and Plankinton.  We hope to build some connections between our church and this new church in the coming months. Right now, we simply ask for you to pray for this new congregation as they seek to connect people with God.

COUNTY FAIR STAMPS

We are still collecting County Fair stamps. Please place them in the drawer marked “County Fair” at the top of the lower-level stairs.

COBORN’S RECEIPTS

We are collecting Coborn’s receipts for February, March, and April. Please place them in the “Coborn’s” drawer at the top of the lower-level stairs.
